Protect Yourself Now: Stop Using Internet Explorer

Recently there was an exploit within Internet Explorer which allowed hackers to bypass any and all internet security protection. With the exposed Internet Explorer it allowed hackers to be able to take control of your computer and even be able to log your keystrokes, stealing your account credentials and credit card information that you type into secure online sites.

The threat was so great that even the Department of Homeland Security advise users to not use the afflicted browser until Microsoft fixed the exploit.

While you might think that getting hacked is a rare occurrence, keep in mind that the recent data breach at Target- a big box retailer and Fortune 500 company- affected millions of customers. The extent of the data breach at Target is still unknown, and the incident just shows us that hacking today is becoming more common, and the stakes are much, much higher.

Even though the patch was fixed, it is not hard to imagine that the widely available Internet Explorer would eventually fall target to another exploit by cyber attacks and hack attempts. To avoid cyber threats, you can utilize Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome, free web browsers that have been around for several years and are much more stable than Internet Explorer, in terms of design and safety.

Don’t wait. Change your browser now and keep your computer and your important information safe!
