best to use. Just as people have some serious brand loyalty to their favorite makes and models in the auto industry, there are plenty of people devoted to one browser or another. However, those preferences might be a matter of familiarity, not actual usage or advantages.

When you are talking about choosing an internet browser, popularity is not the best determining factor in what is right for you.

Your computer came pre-installed with a browser; probably Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer is one of the most common and widely used browsers, which also makes it the most vulnerable. Internet Explorer is subject to frequent changes to the architecture of the program that create compatibility issues for users. What does this mean to non tech-geeks? Internet Explorer doesn’t display web pages correctly a lot of the time, and is also prone to crashing pretty frequently.

Compatibility issues create a huge problem for websites because when the method of delivery changes, the website must change too. Of course, there is little way to anticipate how the changes in the browser’s architecture will affect the function of your website. It takes time to identify the bug and fix the problem. This leaves most people always one step behind.

Internet Explorer is pretty notorious for being an unstable program. It’s a long-running joke on the web that Internet Explorer is “the best browser to download a better browser.”

Best Solutions

You do not need to become a computer expert to avoid disaster compatibility issues. Luckily, there are a couple of simple solutions that will keep things running smoothly.

  • Download a third party internet browser such as Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome. These two browsers are the two most-used browsers by the web and tech communities, so they’re incredibly stable, always up to date and create a simple and smooth web-browsing experience for the user. If you can’t decide which one, download both and try them out to find which one you like using the best. Both Firefox and Chrome work great, but you’ll still find different web and tech experts prefer one or the other for a variety of reasons – this is a long-running feud that isn’t likely to end soon.
